THANK YOU so much for the fantastic support shown for our 14th Annual “Doin’ A Good Thing!” Fall Fundraiser! Approximately 170 people participated in the big event on September 27 as an attendee, a musician, or as a community volunteer. From the moment of checking-in until the final distribution of Door Prizes, the Family Life Center of Orange Park Methodist Church was alive with fun, fellowship, good food, and great music to celebrate the mission of Miriam’s Basket.

A record crowd was tempted with 30+ Silent Auction items - there truly was something for everyone! Original artwork, amazing handcrafted woodwork, designer handbags, jewelry, gift baskets, and so much more was donated by a variety of individuals, businesses and community groups. The LIVE AUCTION was a new addition to our programming and was highly successful thanks to our auctioneer Jan and her sidekick, Carla. Door Prizes created by John and Sharon were given to 12 lucky winners. Photographer Karen captured the event while a delightful balloon framed Photo Spot created by Kellie provided a super space for selfies or shots taken by student volunteers from Fleming Island High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). We enjoyed a delicious meal served by ladies of the Orange Park Woman’s Club and prepared by Chef John of OPMC. Attendees were entertained throughout the evening by the music of the Clay County Community Jazz Band. These volunteer musicians have supported Miriam’s Basket since 2017 and are a real blessing to all of us.

Our Executive Director, Linda Grabowski, shared that since the event was held last September, the Basket has served 464 children in crisis. The reality is that over 14,848 items have been packed into adorable tote bags at a value of over $127,600. Our ability to meet our mission of providing clothing and shoes to God’s children in need is because of YOU. Since our beginning in December 2011, our loving community of supporters have provided for 4304 children, victims of our crazy mixed up adult world. The Miriam’s Basket Team could not have done this without YOU - members of our “village” helping to raise up children and uplift their spirits in their most dire moments. For this, we are most grateful.
Remember to share our story and our mission with your friends and neighbors, church and community groups and anyone you know! Expand our “village” of support as we continue to serve children in need. Look for your “Save the Date” letter in June '26 to join the Support Team for the 15th Annual “Doin’ A Good Thing!” Fall Fundraiser Dinner and Auction!
